First Day of School

As I sit in the parking lot waiting to go inside the building, I’m feeling all sorts of things:

Scared, anxious, excited, eager, ready, unprepared, overwhelmed, and uncertain.

But then I’m reminded that the success of this school and these children doesn’t rest on my shoulders alone. I am not alone.

Deciding to go back to school to get my graduate degree in education hasn’t been the easiest choice, but it’s been a pathway marked by grace and peace – a comfort knowing this is where the Lord wants me right now. And because of this, I know I can do it.

So here’s to the start of something new! To those who are uncomfortable being stretched outside comfort zones and safety nets. To those who rather stick to what they already know. My heartbeat feels those same things. And it’s okay.

Breathe. Trust. Abide. Repeat.

I’m convinced that even through my fears, this year is going to be great!

Maybe the Lord is going to stretch you this year as well, but take heart, you will not walk that journey alone.
